Finding Peace in Christ
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
~ John 16:33 (NKJV)
God desires us to live in continual joy and peace in our relationship with Him. I pray we will remain conscious of the Lord's hand in our lives. God, the Father, wants us to experience His grace, comfort, and assurance, even during our trials, tribulations, and troubles. We can't assume that we will be free from life's challenges. God will give us the strength to endure whatever may come our way.
“We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9) persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— 10) always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.”
~ 2 Corinthians 4:8-10 (NKJV)
We have experienced adversity and obstacles in our lifetime. As the saying goes, what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. We must turn to God and His Word during these moments of opposition for peace, strength, and comfort. When we put our faith in Him, the Lord will guide us to the path of joy and peace.
Whether or not we receive ALL that God, our Father, has for us depends on how deeply we trust and believe His character and how we surrendered to His will and authority for the purpose and plan He has for our lives. Let go and believe Him for every aspect that awaits us in this New Year — surely his joy and peace won't be far behind.
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
~ John 14:27 (NKJV)
The ability to walk and live in blessed quietness and peace in a dark and evil world comes from a covenant relationship and intimate presence with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Take the time to breathe, meditate, and be active each day of your life. His peace happens when we breathe spiritually. Allow the Holy Spirit to breathe on you daily. Breathing is necessary for us to connect with God and sustaining life. Next, we need to meditate — meditating on God’s Word or on the things of God will clear our minds from those things that crowd our minds. Excellent mental health is good for the soul. Lastly, get moving — being active is so important. Take care of your physical body with exercise and self-care — and watch the Lord continue to bring you calmness, quietness, and perfect peace.
Dear Heavenly Father,
There are so many moments and times in my life that I don't feel God's peace, but I'm so appreciative, Lord, you have been with me every step of my life. Thank you for helping me through the struggles, storms, and difficult circumstances. Lord, please help me take those moments to breathe, meditate, and be active every day. Thank you for just being in my life and giving me your most precious peace.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
“May His Grace, His Mercy and His Presence be with you always”
~ Sincerely,
