KINGDOM LOVE

It is amazing how the people of God think today. Maybe, it is bad theology or horrible teaching. It could be the culture and society that we live in. We cannot image or believe that God loves us without merit or deed. So many believers do not realize that God the Father loves us more than we would ever know. The Bible teaches us:

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. [Romans 5:8]

The first thing we need to wrap our minds around is that God does not love us because Jesus died for our sins. But God loves us so much that He sent His son, Jesus Christ to die for us. His love came first…before salvation…before our change…before our decision to follow and serve Him. He loves us and then He commits Himself totally to us before we even had a chance to get ourselves together and commit to Him.

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. [1 John 3:1]

Secondly, we cannot expect affirmation from those that don't know our Father. Because they don't know God, there is no way they can know us. God’s love has positioned us in a place of favor…and our Father calls us the sons of God. We have divinely inherit the attributes and benefits of the Kingdom. Now we are in a covenant relationship with God the Father because He wanted it to be that way. And there is nothing we can do to gain His favor and there is nothing we can do to lose that favor either.

Lastly, God expects you and I to share our new found inheritance with others…with the world. It is easy to love those we like. But God commands us to love our enemies. Jesus goes all in…by teaching the disciples and sharing with us that we need love, bless, do good and pray for our enemies. WOW! The same way God loves us…He wants us to share love with everyone else.

You have heard that it was said, ’You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. [Matthew 5:43 - 44 NKJV]

But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. [Hebrews 13:16 NKJV]

It is a tall order. But we are the body of Christ, we are anointed and able to spread Kingdom Love to a lost and dying world. Before we forget, God loves us at our worst; so we are to love others at their worst…and watch our enemies eventually fall in love with God through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Those same enemies will now become our family. Kingdom Love has the power to reconcile relationships.
